Founder Robert Harvie McLeish (RHM) established McLeish Wines in 1985, with a passion for viticulture and producing the regions finest wines.
This wine has been crafted from the oldest vines that are planted on elevated slopes with rich red clay and red loam soil. The vineyards are low yielding, and all fruit is meticulously hand sorted to produce the highest quality. The varietals are matured separately in French oak barriques for 10 months before assemblage to produce a wine that is fondly known as ‘the great Australian red’.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Deep, youthful purple/red colour; the bouquet showing bright and fresh dark berry fruit and smart oak well combined. The palate is full-bodied and firm, with elegance and backbone, ample tannins, concluding with good balanced grip and a long aftertaste. Stylish, elegant, balanced and worthwhile cellaring.
Production Notes
The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon were matured separately in French oak barriques for 10months before assemblage of the blend that is 73% Shiraz and 27% Cabernet Sauvignon.
