Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
An alluring mix of sweet spices including nutmeg and preserved lemon leads into a very fine and filigreed palate. There are lovely layers and flavour definitions, and an undertow of power driving the wine. On the palate, buttered toast and brioche flavours emerge, signing off with a saline twist. This is a pedigreed wine that will age very well.
Production Notes
In 1985 the 0.7ha Block 3 estate Semillon vineyard was planted on rich red clay soils. This is the most premium block on the estate. The vineyard was hand harvest on the 24th of January, the fruit was then sorted and allocated based on quality, preceding with the grapes being whole bunch pressed. The juice is inoculated with neutral yeasts and fermented in vat. Post ferment the wine then spends 5 weeks on lees prior to bottling.
