Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Deep crimson purple colour precedes the richness in the taste. The McLeish Estate Tri Moir displays a vibrant combination of ripe blackberry, mocha, fruit cake & fine toasty oak.
Vineyard Notes
McLeish Estate vineyards are in Australia’s oldest wine growing region; the Hunter Valley, planted in 1985. The Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are all hand harvested from vines grown in friable red duplex loam soil– Fruit thinning was carried out on the single vineyard to consistently produce the purest and brightest signatures of premium fruit quality.
Production Notes
Harvesting was timed to achieve the most positive varietal distinction with the Tri Moir showcasing vibrant, bright acidity and ripeness to develop our luscious blend. Each varietal is matured seperatly for 10 months prior to assembelage
Winemaker Notes
After a wetter than average July and August, we’ve moved towards beautiful warm weather across November and the start of December, creating the perfect growing conditions for Vintage 2023. The 2023 vintage experienced a mild start to the season the conditions for the red harvest where exceptional with the warmer conditions and a small amount of afternoon rainfall guiding the reds to ultimate balance of sugar and flavour ripeness. An exceptional growing season and vintage, similar to the great 2014 season. With dry and warm to hot conditions throughout. The 2023 vintage sees excellent whites and exceptional reds being released that enjoyable as youthful wines but are going to age incredibly well.
Food Pairing Notes
Lamb, aged beef rib- eye, dark chocolate.
